Welcome to ITLE Faculty Development. We are here to assist early career faculty as they become a successful member of the professoriate, as well as facilitating "life-long learning" of our established faculty. If you are a faculty member wanting to augment or enhance your teaching skills, with or without the use of instructional technology, you came to the right place! We offer a variety of support opportunities, ranging from professional development workshops, technology trainings, and individualized one-on-one assistance.
Professional Development Workshops and Events
We identify and recruit exceptional faculty with demonstrated excellence in one or more aspects related to teaching & learning, pedagogy, and professional development to deliver the workshops and events. The opportunities help faculty enhance instructional effectiveness and establish collegial relations with faculty peers.
Each month, we offer an array of learning sessions dealing with Online Classroom. From an introduction session to sessions dealing with specific feature such as the grade book, liveroom, chat, online quizzes, or the lockdown browser, these hands-on sessions will help you learn about and become comfortable with Online Classroom. We also provide "one-on-one" sessions dealing with your questions and needs.
Instructional Design Consultation
An experienced instructional designer is available to assist faculty with issues related to teaching and curricular development such as selecting instructional strategies and developing instructional materials. The instructional designer consults with faculty in one-on-one or small groups to provide individualized assistance. The instructional designer can also perform course observations and midterm student evaluations for the instructor.
Technology Training and Seminars
We provide face to face training and seminars in instructional technologies such as Turnitin, PowerPoint, podcasting, Flash, Dreamweaver, HTML, Camtasia,
Respondus, webcams, and more.
Online Course Creation Workshop
This week-long program will be delivered in summer through the joint effort of a group of faculty members, librarians, and ITLE professionals. Ultimately, the program helps faculty create online courses which serve as a protocol for OSU’s distance education.
