CMS COMMITTEE HISTORY
November 1, 2005 - An email was sent to
invite a representative from all colleges and OSU campuses to be a part of a
committee that would select one CMS system for OSU.
November 11, 2005 - The CMS Committee met for the first time to discuss
their goals and what they were tasked with from their Deans and VP.
November 22, 2005 - The committee assigned a task force to come up
with a list of system requirements for OSU's CMS.
December 6, 2005 - The Task-force came back to the committee with its
system requirements and the committee decided to invite 5 software vendors to
campus, giving each of them our Features Lists.
One vendor decided not to attend. Each demonstration was opened for
Faculty and Students to attend. Everyone that attended was asked to fill
out a comment sheet on how they feel if the software meets the requirements of the
Features list.
December 13, 2005 - Blackboard
January 17, 2006 - Desire2Learn
January 24, 2006 - WebCT
February 7, 2006 - Angel
February 9, 2006 - The committee came together to evaluate each
software vendor and go over the results from the surveys and comments sheets
given out at each demonstration. Evaluation Results
After discussion, the committee was asked to rank the four candidate systems
on a 1 through 4 basis, with one being their top preference. Twenty-one members
were present, but some voters did not rank all four candidates and some ballots
were declared invalid when voters declared ties, rather than clear
rankings. The results of that ranking were as follows:
