Preparing Online Instructors - Spring 2019 Tulsa Faculty

An immersive, engaging, collaborative experience designed to give faculty a richer understanding of the challenges and opportunities afforded by online instruction.

Course Overview

POI participants take on the role of online students as they explore issues related to online teaching,instruction, and engagement. Participants will spend several hours each week working individually, collaborating with groups, and participating in online text and video discussions. Upon completing the course all participants will have deliverables they can use in their own online instruction, as well as firsthand experience with video-recording and online collaboration technologies.

  • Designing an online course activity
  • Exploring LMS features
  • Constructing an online course syllabus
  • Exploring copyright and intellectual property
  • Creating a video reflection of the POI experience

Two in-person meetings will be held on each campus as a way for participants to meet each other, collaborate in small groups, and discuss topics covered in current literature. Please download the attached PDF for Stillwater and Tulsa mandatory meeting dates and times.
