Online Course Review
ITLE Online Course Review Services
ITLE offers two levels of online course reviews to support quality teaching in online and hybrid courses. Whether your course is synchronous, asynchronous, or a blend of both, our reviews are designed to provide faculty with constructive, research-informed feedback that can help elevate course design and student engagement.
Instructional Course Review- Full Review
A comprehensive option for faculty seeking an in-depth evaluation of their course design, structure, and teaching strategies.
What’s Included:
- One-on-one consultation to identify instructional goals and focus areas
- Full review of your Canvas course and/or observation of a synchronous session
- Written summary with documented strengths and opportunities for enhancement
- Post-review meeting to discuss recommendations
This process is guided by the OSCQR rubric, a research-based framework for designing
high-quality online courses. Our use of OSCQR is formative and non-evaluative, designed
to gently support faculty in enhancing their courses through evidence-based best practices.
There is no scoring; instead, the focus is on present course implementation and strategies
for continuous improvement. The full course review process typically lasts up to three
weeks, from the initial meeting to the final post-meeting recommendations.
Introductory Course Review - Lightweight Review
This streamlined option is ideal for faculty looking for early-semester feedback or a quick check-in on course structure and clarity.
What’s Included:
- Brief Canvas course review (asynchronous or synchronous-supported)
- Summary of key observations and 2-3 actionable suggestions
- 30-minute follow-up consultation
Like the full review, this offering is grounded in the OSCQR rubric's guiding principles,
with feedback focused on practical design improvements and instructional presence.
